'Wolfstar VI: Kel's Plight'

The banging of the door was the last thing Kel heard before the silence that 
followed, silence, absolute silence. What was most un-nerving to Kel was that 
his footfalls, though normally exquisitely quiet, were now silent, as was his 
voice as he called out. 'What is this place?' he thought to himself 'I can't 
hear anything, I really don't like this! I do have a mission though so I must go 
on.' 
Kel appeared to be in what looked like a huge garden, it looked beautiful, but 
this was just part of its trap, this was the 'garden of lost words'. The garden 
of lost words was one of three dangerous arenas required to be traversed to 
bring back the Great Giver, the other two are 'The labyrinth' and 'Caged 
madness'. 
Two waterfalls enter the garden to both the right and left of the entrance, the 
turbulent water flows towards the centre of the garden form both sides, 
eventually flowing down stone drainage covers either side of a central podium. 
'Hmmmm...that looks like where I need to go' thought Kel. Kel walked silently 
towards the podium, as he got closer he saw something was lying on top of it, a 
bowl. Kel moved closer to the podium, the silently turbulent water making him 
nervous, he could see that the bowl contained a white liquid, 'This must be it', 
he thought. As he reached out his paw for the bowl something in the corner of 
his eye caught his attention, there had been an inaudible but quite visible 
splash off to his right. 
Kel stared at the water and saw another splash, then another, they were getting 
closer...something was there...coming to get him. 'An invisible enemy in a 
silent world, I really am in trouble!' thought Kel. Quickly he turned and began 
to run away from the approaching splashes. Soon the splashes stopped...the thing 
was out of the water, he now had no clue as to where it was so Kel just kept 
running. Suddenly Kel fell over, he looked to see what he had tripped on...but 
saw nothing, it was then that he felt a clawed hand on him, and saw only 
darkness. 
When Kel woke up the most obvious thing was the loud noise of screaming, "I can 
hear!" he shouted, the sound of his voice startling him a little. "Yes you can" 
said a voice "But you'll wish you were back in the Silent world!" Kel looked to 
his right and saw a rotweiler looking at him, a cape about his body. "JACE?" The 
dog smiled "Yes Kel...it's me." Kel wrapped his arms around his friend, crying 
"Oh Gods...I thought you were dead...we all did...how, how did you end up here?" 
Jace had a tear in his eye too "Do you remember that night 10 years ago...when 
we were 12, when me, Hargh and Wert went to the temple?" Kel looked at Jace 
"Yes...I remember I chickened out and wouldn't go with you" Jace laughed a 
little "Yeah...you were a fraidy-cat...we all laughed at you...but now I wish we 
had all been like you! Then maybe Wert would still be alive!" Jace's smile 
faided as he finished. "Wert's dead?...but if you made it to here then surely 
you all went in separate doors...how do you know he is dead?" asked Kel. Jace 
pointed to the centre of the garden...a garden now black and rotten, dark vines 
twisted about grotesque statues depicting torturous scenes, upon these grew 
black flowers, sounds of screams erupted from them...and in the centre of it all 
there stood a tall dark creature, so black that only its shape could be seen, 
"He showed me!" 
"Wha..wha..what is it?" stammered Kel after he got over the sight of the 
creature. "He is known as 'The Keeper'. I was the first to enter his grasp...you 
are the second, now he will do just as his name suggests...he will keep 
us...forever!" At this point Jace broke down and began to weep openly. "I'm so 
glad to see you Kel...I would have gone mad...I’m surprised it hasn't happened 
already...the things he has done to me." Kel became angered at this..."What 
things? What has this creature done to you?" Jace moved away from Kel, and 
opened his cape. Around Jace's neck was a studded collar, the studs pointed both 
out from the leather and into his neck, below that Kel could see that one of 
Jace's nipples was pierced, a chain with a weight hung from it, there were slash 
marks all over his body, wounds that appeared as though they had been produced 
but a few seconds ago, though it was possible to see that these were old marks, 
some older than others. He noticed 2 cuts on Jace's paws, these seemed precise, 
lastly Jace's genitals...a tight band almost cut the circulation from his balls, 
and worst of all Jace's shaft was wrapped with what appeared to be razor wire, 
hundreds of small cuts were over the length of his cock, many of them fresh, a 
single tear fell onto it as Kel stared. "Oh Jace...I'm here now...I won't let 
that monster touch you again...I promise!" 
"I'm going to get you out of here...together maybe we can escape!" said Kel. 
"No, it isn't as simple as that." said Jace. "I can't leave...these cuts on my 
paws, he implanted me with something, he can control my actions, he didn't have 
to do the other things to me...he made me do them to myself!" Kel was taken 
aback..."My Gods, he made you do it to yourself, I'll kill him! I don't care how 
big he is, I’m gona tear him limb from limb!" "Shhhh...you will wake him, if you 
do then he will do the same to you as he did to me...you are lucky that he did 
not implant you as soon as he had captured you." whispered Jace, looking about 
anxiously. Kel thought back a minute. "What actually happened when he touched me 
Jace, where are we?" Jace put his cloak about him again and looked at Kel. "You 
are...where you were before." Kel looked puzzled "But this isn't the garden I 
was in, that one was beautiful, this one is grotesque!" Jace smiled a little, 
"Oh really? This is the same garden I can assure you, but this is how it truly 
looks and sounds, don't you see the waterfall, the podium in the centre, the..." 
Kel interrupted "The podium! we are in the same garden, and that bowl on the 
podium, what does it contain?" Jace's face dropped, "It contains nothing...it 
used to contain the combined seeds, but the keeper drank it, so now there is no 
hope of escape." Kel's face lit up for a second. "Has he drunk from the bowl 
recently?" Jace frowned "No...why would he...wait now I understand...you got in 
here so there must be combined seed in there once again, if he drinks it it is 
over, we must get that seed!" "Your in no state for this Jace, I’ll do it, but 
where do we go once we have the seed?" asked Kel "The waterfall...behind it is a 
secret cave, the exit is there." said Jace. "OK Jace...you go and wait by the 
exit, If I wake this guy up we will need as big a head start as possible." With 
this he hugged Jace again, careful not to do it too tight, the thought of Jace's 
torment causing him to anger again...but he suppresses it. "I'll see you there 
my friend." said Jace, a little hope in his eyes. 
Jace walked slowly to the waterfall and passed under the falling waters, Kel 
smiled and moved towards the podium, and the beast that stood beside it. Kel's 
footfalls were barely audible as he approached the bowl atop the podium, he 
looked in the bowl and saw the white liquid, it was still there. Kel reached out 
and very carefully lifted the bowl, the slight scrapping noise caused the Keeper 
to stir a little, Kel froze...the keeper returned to his sleep. Kel now had the 
bowl, he stepped down from the podium and hurried towards the waterfall, his 
impatience got the better of him though and one paw slipped and made a large 
splash in the water. Instantly the Keeper was awake, his blazing red eyes upon 
Kel. Kel forgot all about staying quiet and ran as fast as he could through the 
turbulent water and through the waterfall, once behind the water he could no 
longer see the Keeper but knew he wouldn't be far behind, as he reached the end 
of the cave he could see a funnel, next to which was a door, in front of which 
was Jace, a bow and arrow held at the ready...pointed at Kel. "YOU FOOL! I 
CONTROLL THIS MORTAL, AS I WOULD HAVE CONTROLLED YOU...NOW I DO NOT WISH TO...I 
WISH FOR YOU TO DIE!" the voice came from Jace's muzzle, but it wasn't Jace 
speaking. Jace pulled back the arrow ready to fire, but Kel's lightning 
reactions enabled him to dive to the side, desperately trying to keep the bowl 
upright. Three things happened at once, Kel dived, Jace fired, and the Keeper 
rounded the bend, the arrow piercing his throat, where Kel's head should have 
been. 
The Keeper made no sound, the bright light of his eyes faded, he fell to the 
ground, but never touched it, he was gone. Jace too fell to the floor, the 
wounds in his paws opening to release 2 discs which fell and made a dull 
thudding noise on the floor, his wounds on his body which seemed to constantly 
bleed, healed in a mater of seconds, he was free. "Kel...I'm...I'm free." Jace 
laughed out loud and removed the wire from his shaft, the collar from his neck 
and balls, and lastly the piercing to his nipple...which healed as soon as the 
metal left it. Kel left the bowl on the floor and ran to Jace, crying. "Were 
leaving this place and I'm never going to loose sight of you again...I love you 
Jace. Jace kissed him on the muzzle, "I love you too Kel!" Kel broke the 
kiss..."Now lets get out here." he said smiling, he picked up the bowl and 
poured it into the funnel, the seed drained into a vial which he then placed in 
the door which swung open. He placed his arm around Jace and they walked through 
the doorway, retrieving the vial on the way, the door shut behind them, they 
would never see the garden again. 
Kel looked to his left and saw Tar...he called out to him but Tar wasn't 
listening, Kel followed Tar's eyes... what he saw, he couldn't believe.
